The Invisible-Wings (Floating Points Remix)

Don't normally post up brand new music, but this is simply mind blowing stuff from Sam Shepherd. Even cultural wankers like the Guardian have noticed it's atmospheric subtle beauty. I still haven't got round to buying his double pack EP from last year (having some disposable income would help), which is a bit of a crying shame. Follow the link above for a free download from the Ninja Tune site.

Woolfy Vs. Projections-Absynth

Great news surfaced this week for fans of beautiful breezy downtempo electronica. Californian based Woolfy & Projections have got together again to work on a new album entitled 'The Return of Love'. This is a follow-up to the lovely full length 'The Astral Projections of Starlight' from 2008. The cut that did the rounds the most from that album was 'Absynth'; with it's other wordly soundscapes and subtle hushed vocals it was easy to understand why. Started many an imaginary set with this! New album will hit the shops in August.

Atjazz-Peanuts

For anyone lucky enough to be recovering from Freerotation this year, I thought I'd share some serious deep stuff from Derby's Atjazz. The amount of truly beautiful and excellent house music from the mid to late 90s never ceases to amaze me. I did think a lot of was just awful vocal shit for a long time. But I didn't dig hard enough, or in this case deep enough. This is ripped from an old DIY mix cd that's lying around the house, so it's pitch is a little out from the original. Enjoy nonetheless.

Fred P-Other Music

Freerotation is now so close I can taste it. Fortunately for whoever is lucky enough to be going, Fred P returns after a mammoth Sunday set last year. This is deepness alright, you should just check the whole compliation instead of relying on my waffle. It came out on Jus Ed's Underground Quality label way back in 2007. He is also returning to the festival after playing in 2010! Roll on Friday.

LHAS-Call That Jazz

Hidden away on the flip to the monster sounding 'Learning to Live' from last year, 'Call That Jazz' is a deep and moody downtempo number and to tell the truth has the most staying power of any of the tracks on the EP. This year, the man behind LHAS Jamie Read has already released a lovely ep on Housewax under his own name and only this week dropped 'Will You Dance with Me'; once again under the 'LHAS' name which is an absolute killer track featuring analogue synths and vintage drum machines giving a serious acid vibe.Good shit all round.
