Magnifi Logic
Manifi Logic has been developing his sound for a number of years (under many different guisies) but even he would probably be the first to admit that he's not produced something better than his latest output. The Salford-born but London-based chap delivers two dark and deep slabs of electronica for us here. On 'Blow', a sinister sample is layered with heavy stabs whilst 'Hole' sounds like it's straight out of a K-induced 'hole' in a seedy Berlin nightspot. Recommended!

Mount Kimbie-Ode to Bear
Sombre Autumn vibes beginning to become more prevalent, none more so than the reflective 'Ode to Bear' from Mount Kimbie's 2010 effort 'Crooks and Lovers'.

The Grid-Floatation (Prins Thomas Miks)
The consistently very good Is It Balearic? label pulled off a biggie late last year when they released Prins Thomas' excellent remix of Balearic classic 'Floatation' by The Grid on a limited 10" single sided run. I thought the original would struggle to be bettered but I reckon the 'disco not disco' veteran has pulled it off! I've noticed that most of the stuff I post is what I play out (when I rarely do) so you should know all the TUNES if you have ever catch me in the act.

Fugazi-Furniture
Been going through a shitload of my old CDs recently and forgot how much ace music I liked when I was younger (I also liked a lot of shit). This track for me points to the fact that even if people try and understand what your on about or your thoughts and feelings or even if you've tried to convey these through an art form (such as a song), they really will never get what you did, it's just their interpretation.
'Hey man, I know where you're coming from"
Yeah? BULLSHIT!"

Tender Leaf- Countryside Beauty
The Manchester 100 bike ride is today so I'd thought I would share a track which is fitting for a leisurely ride into the countryside on a late summer's day. However there's nothing about riding 100 miles on a Sunday morning, in grey weather and possibly hungover that could be described as leisurely. Listening to Tender Leaf's blue eyed sunshine soul is a much more pleasureable experience. A track popped up on the Rock Your Soul Compilation last year, and thanks to the good people at Aloha Got Soul you can obtain their only album in full among many lost soul, jazz, funk and rare groove from the tropical climes of Hawaii.
