Move D-Sandmann

Freerotation is now just a week away. Fortunately the green light is go for me and missus to attend. So over the next few days I'll be sharing some fine cuts from some of the artists in attendance. However, I'll probably just post anything.  Best to start with resident and adopted Welshman for a weekend, Move D. This track is lifted from his debut album Kuntstoff released way back in 1995.

Rick Wilhite-City Bar Reopen Live Dancing

It's about time I started posting some house. This beauty comes from an ace compilation from 2005 on Still Music, which has recently been repressed. Detroit shit. Pure and simple. Where's the city at?

The Glass Family-Do You Remember?

More soft rock from the Lexx mix that just keeps on giving. 1967 is when this came out. Just when I thought I dug deep for tunes, it soon dawned on me that I barely scratch the surface.

Larry Heard-Missing You (Lexx Liquid Night Edit)

Another expert rework from the near flawless swiss DJ Lexx. This time he tackles deep shit of the highest order; Larry Heard's 'Missing You'. Another recommendation from musical bible that is Walkmusic. Why I've waited this long to share this god only knows.

Yo La Tengo-Sea Urchins

Yo La Tengo have so much depth to their music its frightening. This lovely track is part of a score they were asked to written to accompany the moving images by French filmmaker of the deep, Jean Painleve. Much of their output from the late 90s and early 00s are so relaxed and blissful, they could probably cure any mode of restlessness. I feel like I could write about Yo La Tengo's music for hours, but what a waste of time that would be if all you should do is listen.

Houses-Soak it Up

Inspired from a visit to Hawaii, this dreamy number help's to free a person's mindset from the ills of the modern day grind of continuous bullshit, which one could associate with a visit to the island. Well it does for me anyway, albeit for only a brief few minutes.

Nick Holder-Love is Blind

First heard this tune on a belting Prosumer mix for Beats in Space a good few years back. Like the vast majority of Nick Holder's tunes, this is on the money from the Canadian house veteran. Finally came to my senses and got hold of it. Shame it's only available on digital. Why didn't I come across music this good when I lived in Canada?

Todd Terje-Snooze 4 Love (Version)

Terje at his most understated. The original did the rounds last year and for good reason. However its the 'version' which just keeps on giving for me sending me into ambient heaven. I played this at the last Soundwaves (I was on early) and it's now available on vinyl after only initially being released digitally.

Prommer & Barck-Pictures of the Sea

Lush deep sounds from the ever dependable pair of Christian Prommer & Alex Barck. Been trying to work this into a guest slot I've got coming up for a friends forthcoming radioshow. Really regretting selling my cdj. Nevermind.
