As I embark back to my place of birth for a few weeks stay, I thought I'd share a song to suit. If you were ever into the band Lamb you might recognise the name of Jon Thorne, who played double bass in the group. As a solo artist under the title 'Jon Thorne's Oedipus Complex' he released Manchester Road, a collection of modern jazz sounds of the mid noughties with a sound similar to contempories such as Cinematic Orchestra and Nostalgia 77. The title track reminds of Manchester in many ways; hazy, hectic, and of course of infrequent nights spent at Matt and Phreds Jazz Club.
